Lions Pride Weightlifting and Wellness:
-
My name is David Fairbanks and I am the owner and Head Coach of Lion’s Pride Weightlifting and Wellness. I first discovered my love for mindful movement and training as I worked to maximize my performance and excel as a multi-sport collegiate athlete. Post college, I maintained my own training practices and began coaching so that I could share my experiences and help others. After time spent working in the social service and corporate sectors, the pull to spend more time sharing my passion for health and wellness with others continued to strengthen. In 2018, I started planning and laying the foundation to pursue being a coach and trainer full time.

Bachelor of Science (Sociology and Psychology), FRC Mobility Specialist, USA Weightlifting (USAW) Level 1 and Level 2
In April of 2019, I transitioned into coaching and training full time and Lion’s Pride Weightlifting and Wellness opened its doors. At LPW, our mission is to share the message of mobility, movement, and mental training. I am passionate about helping others take a balanced approach to building the habits necessary for maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
Wherever you are on your health and wellness journey, I am here to help. At LPW, we tailor our training sessions to fit your needs and help you accomplish your goals. Life is full of adversity. Mental/physical fitness and the resiliency that it creates gives us the opportunity to move through life’s adversities and persevere. A person who is mentally and physically fit will have the confidence to take control and build the life that they desire. Not only does this help the individual, it creates a better community overall. You are not alone on this journey. I would love to help you move and feel better!

Mobility training is a combination of techniques, equipment and movements to help people with movement deficits move around safely. In 2021, I became a certified Functional Range Conditioning® Mobility Specialist – a certification held by a limited number of personal trainers in the Greater Cincinnati marketplace.
Our mobility programming helps improve:
• Range of motion
• Joint strengthening and mobilization
• Body control and awareness
These three areas of mobility must be focused on in order to develop strong training habits and knowledge of the right movements for injury prevention. Every person, no matter their fitness level, should incorporate mobility training into their daily training routine. Mobility training is strength training!
Like mobility training, movement training incorporates body control techniques, utilizing bodyweight / weighted exercises to help with understanding the way you move. By challenging the body with additional resistance, you can gain an understanding of your body’s movements (what feels good and what doesn’t). You’ll be able to reduce pain, lessen the possibility of injury, ensure joint health, and increase your ability to move better. The more mobile a person is, the less pain and discomfort they will experience. Mobility allows YOU to decide what movement means to YOU. Deciding what movement means to you will help keep things interesting and take your training to the next level! Choose something you like doing to move and Keep Going!
We all have to face tough times in our lives at one point or another. Our mental training will help with…..
Understanding how to:
• mentally get through an injury
• push yourself to a new level
• perform a skill that you never thought was possible
Many times when you adjust your thinking, you become stronger inside as well as outside!
